POSItion Overview
Trusty is transforming the way retirees get access to the right health insurance. Our digital platform is sold to insurance brokers and it helps them quickly identify the right insurance for their customers. Be part of a team that believes that no American should go through bankruptcy because of out of pocket healthcare costs.
We are looking for a VP of Engineering to lead the engineering team, but still be excited about getting into code. Our ideal candidate has worked in a startup environment from early stage through to growth stage. We are looking for someone who is a full-stack engineer and software architect with database and systems design and data management experience.
Roles & Responsibilities
Be responsible for guiding the builds coming from product and corporate strategy.
Work closely with the Head of Product, but need to be able to work independently and efficiently.
Keep the priorities of the department delivered on time, and resources allocated sufficiently to meet those timelines
Work using the latest cloud platform technologies AWS Cloud Platform CI/CD tools/frameworks (GitHub, SDLC processes (Jira), and modern architectural patterns (Docker, Kubernetes)
Work in an agile environment on a small scrum team and collaborate with engineering, in-house and remote teams
Evaluating and testing code to ensure it meets industry standards, is valid, properly structured, and compatible with browsers, devices, or operating systems

Necessary Attributes
Coaching
We need a VP of Engineering that is comfortable coaching a junior development team the skills to help them grow.
This may include implementing code quality measures, leading code reviews, and writing code to lead by example.
Organized
The VP of Engineering should coordinate timelines and priorities with the Head of Product, and these should be aligned with the objectives and priorities of both the department and the company.
Teachable
We want an atmosphere where people are eager to share what went wrong and how we can do better.
Solution Provider
Conceptually able to visualize the design and come up with solutions and technical design for Business and Product Use cases for implementation by the engineering team.

Lead QA Engineer

REPORTING Reports to the Head of Product. Coordinates with VP, Engineering, and Head, Customer Success
Position Overview
The Lead QA Engineer is part of the Product team, and is responsible for supporting the necessary builds demanded by the product and corporate strategy of the Company. The Lead QA Engineer works closely with the Head of Product, working to finalize module designs and validating builds against those designs.
The Lead QA Engineer should communicate closely and regularly with the VP of Engineering, to make sure bugs are being addressed and designs are updated regularly, and understand what updates are made in each development environment and when.
The Lead QA Engineer will also interact regularly with the Customer Success team in terms of receiving, logging, and triaging bugs from customers, and troubleshooting customer issues, particularly in times of peak usage.
The Lead QA Engineer will participate in daily Code Review and the off-shore testing team to make sure QA is organized and effective.
Roles & Responsibilities
The Lead QA Engineer will be responsible for the following in order of priority:
Quality Assurance (QA): Test all Trusty.care products on a regular and systematic basis for bugs and errors in advance of all product releases. Document test procedures and enter issues into Issue Tracking systems. Contribute automated tests to the development automated test suite. Triage customer bugs in coordination with the Customer Success team.
Design: Work with the product owner to design improvements to the application. Designs must be complete to a level that allows for clear implementation and validation. This involves working with Customer Success, and their customer feature requests documentation, to develop customer requests into full fledged module designs following ranking detailed by Customer Success.
Development: Work with the engineering team to rapidly iterate on improving code for integration with third party developers and partners. This will focus mostly on understanding the Trusty tech stack and the possibilities that it allows for.
Experience & Key Qualifications
The Lead QA Engineer should have the following experience and qualifications:
3 years QA and/or technical support experience
3 years experience working directly with a development team
Some understanding of Javascript, HTML, CSS, PHP, Python, MySQL, React/React Native
Experience with JIRA and Confluence a bonus
Hard working, dependable, works well in a team, willing to learn new things
